Just prior to Super Bowl 55 AdWeek reported that two advertisers had used the same stock footage clip in each of their ads. It was the height of the pandemic, and brands were struggling to shoot actual footage, but it was odd that neither had opted for exclusivity rights for a spot in the biggest game (and ad spend) of the year. The story spurred an idea to create a short film using only stock footage, including the clip that the two brands used for their commercials.
